SOMERSET – Somerset swept a Cambria County League doubleheader from Bedford on Sunday to remain unbeaten (15-0).
In the first game, Austin Sleek hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth to break a tie and send Somerset to the win. Sleek was 2 for 2, scored four runs and had two RBIs. Jack Nickelson was 3 for 4 with four RBIs and a two-run homer in the first while Mike Van Lenten and Tanner Stull had two hits each for Somerset.
For Bedford, Jake Stern was 3 for 3, scored three and drove in two while Tyler Black had a three-run double and Cory Furry was 2 for 4.
In the second game, Zane Helsley executed a suicide squeeze in the bottom of the sixth to score pinch runner Ross DiRienzo for the winning run. Seth Rose was 2 for 3 for league-leader Somerset.
For the Hurricanes, Black was 2 for 3 and Garrett England scored their run.
Stoystown 5-13, Lilly 1-10
CAIRNBROOK – Stoystown swept a doubleheader over visiting Lilly.
In Game 1, Cody Kiser tripled and drove in a run for Stoystown while James Mardula had a double and Zane Itle scored Lilly’s run.
In the second game, Nash Walker scored three times while Nate Defibaugh and Cameron Darr were both 2 for 3 and scored twice for Stoystown. Tyler Funa scored twice and drove in two, Lance Blough hit a double and Brett Hart was 2 for 3 and drove in three for Stoystown.
For Lilly, Shane Hartline was 3 for 4, scored three and drove in two while Shane Itle was 2 for 2 with a double and two runs scored, and Zane Itle had a double and drove in two runs.
MEYERSDALE – Zack Ambrisco and Ryan Woo scored three runs apiece, and Justin Monito had a pair of hits in Ebensburg’s victory over Meyersdale in the first game of a doubleheader. Jake Baer had both of Meyersdale’s hits.
In Game 2, Baer and Lance Leydig both scored twice to help Meyersdale earn a split. Chuck Donaldson had two hits and Ty Mayhugh had a double and two RBIs.
Mitchell Brown had a pair of doubles for Ebensburg.
CLAYSBURG – Claysburg swept a pair of games from Patton.
In the first game, Logan Stern was 3 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs and Trent Forshey was 2 for 4, including a double, with two RBIs for Claysburg. For Patton, Dylan Corl was 3 for 4.
In the second game, Trey Claar had a double with three RBIs and Forshey was 3 for 4 with two doubles for Claysburg (16-1). Mitch Gedman and Dom Milanasi were both 2 for 4 and Jared Ivory hit a three-run home run for the Redmen (7-5).
St. Michael 10-5
St. Michael and Cernic’s split a doubleheader.
In the first game, Justin Gdula and Justin Smith each had three hits while Dennis Richardson, winning pitcher Jared Shope and Cody Mickus added two apiece in the Saints’ win.
In Game 2, Curtis McClain had three hits and three RBIs and Brady Hamer added two hits and a run batted in for Cernic’s. Brady Wright had two hits for St. Michael.

Colin Greening scored 7:39 into double overtime, and the Ottawa Senators rallied for a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins that cut their series deficit to 2-1 on Sunday night.
Daniel Alfredsson got Ottawa even 1-1 by scoring a short-handed goal with 29 seconds left in regulation just after the Senators pulled goalie Craig Anderson for an extra skater.
