ALTOONA —
Altoona Nittany Oil/Minit Mart and the Brooklyn Bonnie Rams were winners during an abbreviated Altoona AAABA Regional on Saturday.
Rain created headaches for organizers, who originally had scheduled a pair of doubleheaders at two different sites. Heavy rains during the past few days created wet conditions at Penn State-Altoona and led to all regional games being played at Juniata Sports Complex.
In Zanesville, Livonia is undefeated in two games, and Buffalo will take a 1-1 record into today’s noon title game at Gant Municipal Stadium.
Should Buffalo force a second game in the double-defeat elimination Zanesville Regional, the title would be decided at 3 p.m.
All regional games are seven innings after a rule change this year.
