Eastern League Harrisburg 7, Altoona 0

ALTOONA - Harrisburg’s Erik Arnesen (1-2) combined with Rafael Martin, Yunior Novoa and Adam Carr to hand Altoona its second shutout loss of the season on Wednesday at Blair County Ballpark.

Altoona starter Justin Wilson (1-3) suffered the tough-luck loss.

Arnesen and Wilson battled one another through the first five innings with neither allowing a run before the Senators broke onto the scoreboard in the sixth.

With one out, Wilson hit Danny Espinosa to put him on first with Jesus Valdez at the plate. After Espinosa stole second, Valdez doubled him in to put Harrisburg on top, 1-0.

Wilson tossed six innings and allowed just the one run on three hits while striking out six.

In his past two outings, Wilson has allowed just two runs on six hits in 12 innings of work with 13 strikeouts.

Both of the outings were quality starts.

Harrisburg opened up the game in the seventh off reliever Corey Hamman when it plated five runs off the lefty.

Hamman walked Ofilio Castro to begin the inning and then surrendered a two-run home run to Jhonatan Solano to put the Senators ahead 3-0.

Harrisburg batted around in the inning and scored three more runs on a home run by Danny Espinosa.

Hamman lasted just a third of an inning before turning it over to Michael Dubee.
