PORTAGE – Brianna Kearney scored 17 points and was helped by 11 points from Brianna Mulhearn and 10 by Kaitlyn Krug as the Panthers defeated Purchase Line on Friday night.
The Red Dragons’ Cassie Brocious led all scorers with 26 points. Teammate Karli Rorabaugh tallied 12 in the loss.
Portage 61, Harmony 38
PORTAGE – The Mustangs were buoyed by dueling double-doubles as Olivia McCabe scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Kelsie Spaid dropped in 13 points and pulled down
12 boards in a victory over the Owls.
Emily Chobany and Kaitlyn Dividock each scored 10 points for Portage.
Alaina Westover’s 12 points led Harmony.
Bishop Guilfoyle Tournament
C. Valley 57, Bishop Carrolll 52
ALTOONA – Despite 25 points from the Huskies’ Dani Link, the Blue Jays advanced to the championship game.
Conemaugh Valley got 15 points from Nikki Ledwich and another 10 from Abby Menett.
Bishop Carroll’s Gabby Gueguen scored 16.
Forest Hills Booster Tournament
Everett 55, Northern Cambria 42
SIDMAN – Aubrea Phipps scored 24 and Arika Layton added 10 and Everett pulled away from Northern Cambria in the fourth quarter.
Ashley Delfonso led the Colts with 16 points while Kelley Sedlock had 11.
Northern Cambria will play North Star in the consolation game at 6 p.m. while Everett faces Forest Hills in the championship at 7:30.
Forest Hills 75, North Star 36
SIDMAN – Casey Gallaher scored 28 points to lead Forest Hills past North Star.
Megan Gould added 14 and Becky Bard had 11 for Forest Hills.
Emily Lohr tallied 11 for North Star.

Cambria Heights 50, Meyersdale 39
HOMER CITY – The Highlanders outscored the Red Raiders 17-1 in the fourth quarter to emerge with a come-from-behind victory at Homer-Center High School.
Danielle Bodek led Cambria Heights with 17 points and 10 rebounds while teammate Carrie Weaver chipped in 10 points.
Marie Vena’s 13 points paced Meyersdale.
Marion Center Tournament
Westmont 49, Central 38
MARION CENTER – Alyssa Yewcic scored
18 points and fellow Hilltopper Erin Rodgers poured in 15 as Westmont topped former conference rival Central at Marion Center.
The Scarlet Dragons were paced by Sheyanne Patterson’s 13 points.
Penns Manor Tournament
Penns Manor 57, C. Township 52
CLYMER – Twins Kayla and Krista Gillo combined for 27 points to lead host Penns Manor past Conemaugh Township.
The Comets did not even attempt a 3-pointer in the game, using their size advantage to wear down the smaller Indians.
Katie Reckner scored 20 points for Conemaugh Township.

MUNDYS CORNER – Kastelin Stubbs led all scorers with 22 points as the Eagles defeated the host Panthers.

ARMAGH – Tynesha Smith had 20 points and nine rebounds as the Trojans toppled host United in a non-conference tilt. Talia Whitfield added 13 points while Chartice Wyatt had 12 rebounds for Johnstown.
Julie Snyder’s 14 points spurred United.

Bill Lamp Memorial Tournament
Blacklick 65, Meyersdale 47
ROCKWOOD – Sophomore Dalton Cesarz scored 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as the Vikings dropped Meyersdale.
Victor Manda scored 18 for Blacklick Valley, which raced out to a 27-10 lead after a quarter.
Justin Donaldson led a trio of Red Raiders in double figures with 15 points. Mason Luster and Matt Moser scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Hanover Tip-Off Tournament
Hanover 79, Somerset 75
HANOVER – Pete Yingst’s 32 points led the host Nighthawks to a narrow victory over Somerset. Harry Shultz tallied 20 for Hanover, which draws Delone Catholic in the tonight’s championship game.
The Golden Eagles were led by Eddie Buck’s 24 points and another 11 from Brent Barron.
Somerset faces Columbia in the consolation game at 6.
Homer-Center Tip-Off Tournament
Harmony 51, Westmont Hilltop 39
HOMER CITY – Harmony held Westmont Hilltop to 4 points in the third quarter and 15 in the second half en route to a first-round victory.
Cameron Norris led the Owls with 23 points while Erik Welteroth added 18. Harmony will play Homer-Center in the championship game.
Bryant Fisher paced Westmont Hilltop with 10 points. The Hilltoppers will face Derry at 4:30 in the consolation game.
Kittanning Tournament
Riverview 53, Cambria Heights 40
KITTANNING – Three Raiders, led by Brandon Wilhelm’s 18 points, scored in double figures as Riverview topped Cambria Heights.
Corey Bickert (12 points) and Terrel Craighead (11) supported Wilhelm’s game-high mark.
The Highlanders were led by Isaac Vescovi’s 15 points. Brad Caldwell scored 14.

Host Richland outscored Berlin 43-19 in the second half on its way to a season-opening victory. Derrick Malzi scored 21 to pace the Rams, while Kyle Flick netted 15 and Alex Ritenour 11.
The Mountaineers’ Alex Will had 18 points.
C.C. Christian 80, DuBois Christian 35
MUNDY’S CORNER – Dom Williams scored 18 points to lead Cambria County Christian.
Ty Maykovich added 13 points while Josiah Perry had a dozen.
Matt Burkett had 14 points for DuBois.
Salisbury 78, Hyndman 76 (2OT)
SALISBURY – Three Salisbury-Elk Lick players topped the 20-point mark as the Elks edged Hyndman in double overtime.
Alex Beiler finished with 26 points. Ryan Vogt topped Salisbury with 27. Brandon Miller finished with 20.
Geoff Garlitz pulled down 12 rebounds for Salisbury, and Beiler had nine assists.

AAABA League will open after busy offseason
The AAABA League opens on Tuesday at Point Stadium with two new, but familiar managers, a new but familiar sponsor, an expanded interleague schedule and two new franchises committed to the 2013 season.
A lot of activity took place during the offseason, including the AAABA national committee’s vote to expand the age limit to 21 years old beginning in 2013. -

Richland's Lumley settles for pair of silver medals
Paige Lumley was on an emotional roller coaster and seeing silver on Saturday at the PIAA Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University.
The Richland senior had state record jumps twice during the triple jump competition, but ended up with a silver–medal leap of 40 feet,
1¾ inches.
Defending state champion, second-seeded junior Lanae Newsome of Brookville, won with a jump of 40-3½. -
Ridge’s Dull takes second with school-record time
Matt Dull finished his athletic career with his best on Saturday at the PIAA Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University.
The Chestnut Ridge senior ran a career-best time of 38.12 to finish second in the 300 hurdles final, also setting another school record. -
Hit batsman lifts Pirates over Cubs
Matt Hague was hit by a pitch from Rafael Dolis with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the Pittsburgh Pirates sent the Chicago Cubs to their 11th straight loss with a 3-2 victory Saturday night.
Hague took a 96 mph fastball from Dolis (2-4) in the back near the shoulder blade, scoring Jose Tabata and eliciting an incredulous look to the sky by the Cubs reliever. -
