UPJ sweeps Charleston
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Kelsey Shanabrook and Beth Kendera combined for 26 kills as the Pitt-Johnstown women’s volleyball team won at Charleston 25-19,
25-21 and 25-18 Friday evening.
Shanabrook finished with 15 kills and five digs, while Kendera had 11 kills and seven blocks for the Lady Cats (10-6, 3-4).
Ashley DiRado chipped in with seven kills and Larissa Swank had four kills and two blocks.
Kayla Petrilla finished with 19 assists and seven digs, while Nikki Oakes had 13 assists, 10 digs and four service aces.
Charleston fell to 8-12 overall and 3-3 in the WVIAC.
Penn Highlands remains winless
Westmoreland County Community College defeated Penn Highlands in four sets, 25-17, 18-25,
25-5 and 25-23.
Kayla Maust led the Lady Black Bears with 13 kills, 11 digs, five blocking assists and two solo blocks.
Shelly Pavcik added 20 digs, seven kills and four aces, while Brittany Shawley contributed 22 assists, 19 digs and two service aces.
Penn Highlands is 0-8 and Westmoreland County Community College is 4-4.
