St. Francis swimming on CSCAA All-Academic list
LORETTO – The student-athletes of the St. Francis University swimming team have once again raised the bar for excellence in both the pool and the classroom.
The Red Flash women’s swimming team, winners of three consecutive Northeast Conference titles, is a recipient of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Team Scholar All-America Award for the 12th straight semester.
“The team sets a goal at the start of each season to be one of the country's best and the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honor shows they continue to work hard to achieve it,” said St. Francis coach Patrick Gallagher. “This is what being a student-athlete is all about. I am very proud of the team and thankful to the faculty and support staff on campus that helps make this possible.”
With a collective 3.50 GPA during the spring 2012 semester, the Red Flash ranked 18th in the country among NCAA Division I swimming & diving programs.
The Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
