SOMERSET —
Somerset state police have identified the pedestrian struck by a vehicle along SR 40 on Friday.
The victim was identified as 28-year-old Sarah Ankrom of Markleysburg. Following the crash, Ankrom was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in West Virginia in critical condition.
Police say Ankrom was lying in the roadway on SR 40 and though two bystanders attempted to stop traffic before Ankrom was hit, she was struck in the head and neck by the front right tire of an oncoming vehicle.
