Small jet makes emergency landing in State College

STATE COLLEGE — A New York-bound jet made an emergency landing in central Pennsylvania when smoke was seen in the cockpit. No one was hurt.

The Centre Daily Times reports that Delta Flight 6044 was traveling from Cleveland to New York's LaGuardia Airport on Tuesday night when it made an emergency landing at University Park Airport.

Airport Director Bryan Rodgers says all 16 people aboard, including 12 passengers and four crew members, made it off safely.

The regional jet was operated by Chautauqua Airlines.
