PHILADELPHIA — Federal prosecutors say a former middle school principal in suburban Philadelphia has been charged with possessing child pornography.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Philadelphia announced the charges against 42-year-old Troy Czukoski on Tuesday. Rose Tree Media School District officials say he recently resigned his post as principal at Springton Lake Middle School.
Prosecutors say a search warrant executed in October found more than 150 images of children engaging in sex acts.
Czukoski's lawyer, Joseph Green, says his client is an adult survivor of childhood sexual abuse and is receiving psychiatric treatment. He says Czukoski has agreed to plead guilty to possessing the images.
School officials say there is no evidence that Czukoski mistreated any children at the school.
