Man shot after being chased at Pa. playground

LEBANON — Authorities say a man was shot after being chased by another man at a playground in central Pennsylvania.

It happened around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Beautex Playground in Lebanon. The Lebanon Daily News reports witnesses told police they saw 33-year-old Christopher Barrett at the playground, running from another man who was shooting at him.

Police found Barrett near the playground, suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back. He was taken to a hospital and police say the wound does not appear to be life-threatening.

Police Chief Daniel Wright says Barrett told officers he was at the park to exercise. Wright says police don’t think the shooting was random.

Witnesses saw a man fleeing the scene in a car, but no arrests were immediately made.
