PITTSBURGH — LAWYERS SAY JURY SET TO DELIVER VERDICT IN FIRED PRISON GUARD’S INMATE ABUSE TRIAL

Sixty-one-year-old Harry Nicoletti faces 80 counts of physically and sexually abusing gay inmates and convicted child molesters or having other guards and inmate workers do it for him. He faces decades in prison if convicted of even a fraction of his charges.

BUBBLE GUN ‘PERP’ HEADED BACK TO CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA KINDERGARTEN

The 5-year-old was suspended for 10 days – but had that penalty cut to two – after she allegedly told another girl she was going to shoot her: with a pink Hello Kitty gun that “fires” only bubbles. An attorney for her family says the girl is returning to Mount Carmel Elementary School today.

PHILLY JURY CONVICTS PRIEST, TEACHER IN SEX ABUSE CASE STEMMING FROM ARCHDIOCESE SCANDAL

The verdict upholds the stunning account from a troubled 24-year-old policeman’s son that he was sexually abused as a boy by two priests and his sixth-grade teacher. One priest took a plea deal before trial, while the jury convicted the Rev. Charles Engelhardt and former teacher Bernard Shero of all but one count.

NO DO-OVER FOR FORMER PENN STATE ASSISTANT COACH JERRY SANDUSKY ON CHILD-SEX CHARGES

A judge has rejected defense arguments that Sandusky’s attorneys didn’t have enough time to prepare for the trial that ended with Sandusky’s conviction on 45 counts last year.

Pittsburgh’s 68-degree high broke the record for the same date of 66 degrees set in 1916, and Erie’s 65 degrees broke a record high of 62, also set in 1916.
