Eagles topple Tomahawks

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — The Johnstown Tomahawks scored a pair of second-period goals to take a lead, but first-place Soo netted three straight goals and the host Eagles won 5-2 on Friday night.

Soo’s Jared VanWormer had two goals to help his team overcome a one-goal deficit and please a crowd of 680.

VanWormer scored on the power play at 16:21 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again at 19:53 into the second to make the score 3-2 Soo.
