JOHNSTOWN —
Stacy Lynn Varmecky and Kurtis Scott Roberts were married July 21, 2012, at Resurrection Roman Catholic Church.
The Rev. Aron Maghsoudi, pastor of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, performed the double-ring ceremony. Concelebrants included the Rev. Andrew Stanko of St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church; the Rev. Alan Thomas of Resurrection Roman Catholic Church; the Rev. Brian Warchola of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church; and Seminarian Peter Crowe.
The bride is the daughter of Ralph and Barbara Varmecky of Johnstown. She is the granddaughter of Rosella Ryba and the late Walter J. Ryba, and Blanche Varmecky and the late Edward Varmecky.
The groom is the son of Scott and Marianne Roberts of Johnstown. He is the grandson of Faye Roberts and the late George Roberts Jr., and the late Mary Kay Launtz and the late William Launtz.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Amy Varmecky, as maid of honor, and Holly Stitko as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Stacey Bumbernick, Jamie Koshak, Beth Anne Sandak, Kayla Smith, Sara Stefanik and Sarah Youchak.
Korey Roberts and Kary Roberts were their brother’s best men.
Groomsmen were Patrick Adams, Joey Dippel, Zach
Norwood, Dan Stover and Brian Varmecky, brother of the bride.
Adeline Rudge, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl.
Evan Allen, cousin of the bride, was the ringbearer.
David Tedford provided the violin music.
Josh Devett and Debbie Chuba provided vocal accompaniment and Evonne Yanzetich-Homway of St. John Gualbert Cathedral provided the organ music.
Kendra Slis, cousin of the bride, and Matt Slezak and Cori Rigo read Scripture.
Rebecca Zajdel, cousin of the bride, and Judy Hewitt and Sharon Jackson were the gift bearers.
Additional participants in the ceremony were Jacob Allen, Zachary Slis, Brianna Varmecky, Russell Varmecky, Andrew Zajdel and Lauren Zajdel, cousins of the bride.
A reception was held at Christ the Saviour reception hall, 307 Garfield St., Johns-town. Pastor Phillip King of Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren offered grace during the reception.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Richland High School and a 2009 graduate of Pitt-Johnstown, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management.
In 2011, she earned a master’s degree in business administration from St. Francis University.
She is the marketing and social media coordinator/writer in the marketing communications department at Conemaugh Health System.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Ferndale Area High School and a 2005 graduate of Mount Aloysius College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in humanities.
He is the program director for the Laurel Highlands Council, Boy Scouts of America.
The newlyweds reside in Vintondale.
