Carrie Johanna Thomas and John Edward Carlson were married June 30, 2012, at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Hollsopple.
The Rev. John E. Eash Jr., the bride’s grandfather, performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Galen and Johanna Blough of Johnstown and David Thomas of Augusta, Ga.
The groom is the son of the late John and Theresa Carlson.
Presented in marriage by her brother, D. Scott Thomas, the bride was attended by Erin Paxinos, cousin of the groom, and Michelle Lerner, sister-in-law.
Robert Carlson and Richard Carlson, brothers of the groom, also attended.
Ushers were Ronald Punako Sr. and Donald Reto, uncles of the bride.
Arbutus Blough, great-aunt of the bride, was the organist.
A reception was held at Joey Del’s Catering, Johnstown.
The bride is a graduate of Penn State and Brooklyn College, where she earned a master’s degree in childhood education.
She is a lead teacher at Excellence Girls School and Saturday Academy director for Uncommon Schools Inc., Brooklyn, N.Y.
The groom is a graduate of New York University, where he earned a master’s degree.
He is an administrative supervisor for the Jewish Board for Children and Family Services and a licensed clinical social worker with a private practice in Brooklyn.
