PHILADELPHIA —
A Philadelphia woman who calls herself the "Black Madam" is due in court Wednesday in the death of a London woman who died after getting cosmetic surgery at an airport hotel.
Padge Windslowe is charged with killing 20-year-old Claudia Aderotimi. Police say the tourist came to Philadelphia in February 2011 to receive silicone injections that enlarge the buttocks.
Police say Windslowe left the hotel room even after Aderotimi complained of chest pains and breathing problems. The young woman died hours later.
Police spent more than a year investigating before charging Windslowe with third-degree murder.
They've also charged Windslowe with injuring an exotic dancer who spent two weeks in the hospital after Windslowe allegedly used silicone and Krazy Glue to perform a similar procedure. A judge has upheld those charges.

2 killed in helicopter crash
TOBYHANNA — Authorities say a helicopter has crashed in northeastern Pennsylvania, killing two people and injuring one.
Investigators believe the chopper went down around 8 p.m. Tuesday in Coolbaugh Township, about 90 miles north of Philadelphia. The wreckage was located in woods off Interstate 380 around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Monroe County Coroner Bob Allen tells the Pocono Record of Stroudsburg that two people onboard were confirmed dead at the scene. Allen says a third person, who was a backseat passenger, is injured. WFMZ-TV reports that person is being treated for severe injuries at a hospital.
Officials say the helicopter is registered to ACS Helicopters LLC in Far Hills, N.J., and based out of the Somerset Airport in Somerville, N.J.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating. The victims' names have not been released.

Boy, 10, charged in blaze at retirement home
REEDERS — A 10-year-old boy has been charged with arson in connection with a fire at a retirement home in northeastern Pennsylvania.
The Pocono Record of Stroudsburg reports the boy is being held at the Lehigh County Detention Center, pending further court action. His name has not been released.
The fire started at the Hillcrest assisted living home in Jackson Township just after noon Monday. Residents were evacuated, but no injuries were reported.
Investigators say the blaze was limited to an unoccupied unit.

Police, FBI bust northeast Philly heroin operation
PHILADELPHIA — Authorities have seized more than $1.5 million in drugs during a bust of a large Philadelphia heroin operation.
It happened during a sting operation Tuesday night at what authorities described as a "stash house" in the city's Mayfair section. Police and FBI agents seized about five kilos of heroin.
WPVI-TV reports authorities also took a 46-year-old man into custody.

DA probes allegations councilwoman took cash
CHESTER — Prosecutors are investigating allegations that a first-term city councilwoman in Chester, Pa., took money from a cash box at a city swimming pool.
The Delaware County Daily Times reports Chester Mayor John Linder informed Councilwoman Elizabeth Williams in a July 30 letter that he had received allegations she had removed about $148 in cash from a box at the city pool. The letter also claimed she allowed people to enter the Memorial Park swimming pool without paying.
Delaware County Assistant District Attorney Erica Parham said Tuesday prosecutors are reviewing the allegations against Williams. Both Williams and Linder declined comment on the investigation to the newspaper.
A message left by The Associated Press at Williams' office Wednesday was not immediately returned.

Friends, family remember slain football player
WASHINGTON — Friends and family say a standout college running back killed in an apparent mugging was a positive person who tried to set a good example.
Twenty-one-year-old Washington & Jefferson College football player Timothy McNerney died from head trauma suffered when he was attacked on the street Thursday by a group of men in Washington, about 20 miles outside Pittsburgh.
Authorities are still investigating and Washington police Chief Robert Lemons says surveillance video shows several people in the area when the crime occurred.
On Tuesday, more than 300 friends and family remembered McNerney at a memorial service.
Twenty-two-year-old high school teammate Brandon Flick says McNerney was "the best of us." His cousin, 21-year-old Colin McNerney, says he looked for the positive in everything and always tried to set a good example.

Philly school to reopen after fumes caused illness
PHILADELPHIA — An elementary school in Philadelphia is expected to reopen Wednesday, a day after exhaust fumes from a broken generator sickened more than 50 children.
School officials say dozens of students at Joseph H. Brown Elementary School in the city's Holmesburg section started feeling sick around 9 a.m. Tuesday and the fire department was called. District spokesman Fernando Gallard says 53 were taken to hospitals for observation.
He says the students were later released.
Investigators later determined the cause of the fumes was a faulty backup generator that had been spilling exhaust into the school. The generator has been repaired.

Crack found in weld on nuclear reactor
SHIPPINGPORT — FirstEnergy Corp. and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission say a crack has been found in the weld of a western Pennsylvania nuclear reactor, but that no radiation leaked from the unit.
The crack was found Saturday on the reactor vessel head of Unit 2 at the Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station, about 30 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The unit has been down for regularly scheduled maintenance and refueling since Sept. 24.
NRC spokesman Neil Sheehan says no radiation leaked because the weld did not go all the way through. The power plant, like other nuclear facilities, is changing the metal alloys it uses on such welds, because the former alloys have been found to crack over time.
The Beaver County Times reports the crack is not expected to delay the refueling and maintenance process.

School probing pics of DJ holding bras
IRWIN — A western Pennsylvania school district is investigating pictures posted on Facebook that show a disc jockey holding up bras that students threw at him during the high school's recent homecoming dance.
Norwin School District officials tell WPXI-TV they don't know how many students were involved or whether they'll be disciplined.
The DJ, Eric Wenning, says he posted the pictures from the Norwin High School dance on his own Facebook page and says he was appalled, as were dance chaperones, when the female students started throwing their bras at him.
School officials learned of the situation when a parent saw the pictures online and complained.
One student at the dance told the news station that Wenning didn't encourage the bra throwing, but at least one parent tells the station that's not true.
