ZIPPO WITHDRAWING LIGHTERS WITH MILITARY DESIGNS THAT WERE BEING SOLD ON GERMAN SKINHEAD WEBSITE

Officials with Zippo Manufacturing Co., based in Bradford, and its German distributor say they didn’t realize the lighters were being marketed to neo-Nazis. The lighters featured the German iron cross and other war-related images.

PENN STATE TRUSTEE SAYS PATERNO FAMILY REPORT DOESN’T ADDRESS MANY FINDINGS BY FORMER FBI DIRECTOR LOUIS FREEH

Trustee Kenneth Frazier says the family-funded critique “strains to interpret” emails and other documents from administrators. Freeh cited those missives in concluding that late coach Joe Paterno and university administrators didn’t properly respond to child-sex abuse allegations against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.

NEWLY RELEASED CENSUS DATA SHOWS 40 OF PENNSYLVANIA’S 67 COUNTIES ARE ‘DYING’

That is, those counties recorded more deaths than births from 2010 to 2012. But some of those counties still added population because of people moving into them. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh both gained residents because of people moving into them, including thousands of international immigrants.

The lawsuits claim a Springettsbury Township officer punched a handcuffed woman and kneed a man in another incident, breaking five of his ribs, then made false reports to cover up the alleged assaults. Police aren’t commenting.

Archbishop Charles Chaput reverses the boys-only rule that had been enforced in a Bucks County league, meaning Caroline Pla – who has played football since she was in kindergarten – can keep playing with the boys.
