STATE COLLEGE — A Penn State student reported missing more than a week ago was located Tuesday evening by police in Missouri.
Jesse W. McMillen, 21, was found staying with a resident of Springfield, Mo., State College police said.
McMillen was reported missing Aug. 18 by his roommate. Police said he had not been in touch with family or friends for about a week before that.
Before Tuesday, he was last seen Aug. 20, walking along Interstate 79 in Bridgeport, W.Va., carrying a cardboard sign. The day before, McMillen was seen in Ebensburg, where he told a Red Carpet Inn worker he was trying to hitchhike his way to Pittsburgh to see a friend, police said.
Police did not provide addition details, including whether McMillen is returning to the State College area.
