Toxicology key to death of man found in snow in Indiana County

GLEN CAMPBELL — A coroner says toxicology tests will likely pinpoint the cause of death of a man whose frozen body was found face down in a snowy Indiana County yard.

Indiana County Coroner Michael Baker says Tuesday the body of 28-year-old Christopher Brander showed he was likely assaulted or in a fight before he died, but none of those injuries was serious enough to kill him. Baker also ruled out hypothermia, saying the body was frozen because it had been there for a while before it was found Friday.

Brander’s body was found in Glen Campbell. His sister has told investigators that Brander had abused drugs and may have had recently dealings with drug traffickers.

Glen Campbell is about 50 miles north of Johnstown.

State police have not commented on their investigation.
