Cernic’s 7, Lilly 2
Winning pitcher Zaine Tomkowski and teammate Brady Hamer each two hits and two RBIs to spur host Cernic’s to a win over Lilly on Thursday.
Shane Hartline drove in one of Lilly’s two runs.
Patton 8, Richland 2
PATTON – Trailing visiting Richland by a run in the sixth, host Patton plated seven runs to overcome the guests and take home a win.
Nathan Bearer highlighted the inning with a two-RBI double while Dylan Corl collected two hits.
Richland built its 2-0 lead in the fourth on a two-run home run by Jake Wissinger.
Claysburg 20, Portage 10
CLAYSBURG – Claysburg scored seven runs in the first and sixth innings respectively as it downed Portage in six innings.
Austin Cunningham, Cameron Strayer and Jared Ickes each had two hits and three RBIs for the victors.
Portage was sparked by Devon Harrison and Evan Price, who each had three hits.
Somerset 12, Stoystown 7
CAIRNBROOK – Somerset piled 12 runs on host Stoystown over the first four innings and held off a late charge to remain unbeaten in Cambria County Legion play.
Brent Barron swatted a three-run home run and scored four runs to highlight his three-hit evening.
Tanner Stull scored three runs while Drew Hemminger and Austin Sleek each had two RBIs and Zane Helsley was 3 for 5 in the win.
Cameron Darr was 2 for 3 and scored two runs while teammate Lance Blough scored twice for Stoystown.
Meyersdale 5, St. Michael 2
ST. MICHAEL – Meyersdale bounded out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and stranded 12 St. Michael baserunners throughout its road victory. Justin Donaldson was 3 for 4 with a RBI while teammate Steve Haer drove in two and had two hits.
The Saints’ Cody Mickus had two hits.
