News from around the state

Here's a look look at late-breaking news, upcoming events and stories that will be talked about in Pennsylvania today:

STATE POLICE PLANNING NEWS CONFERENCE ON SUICIDE BOMBING THAT DESTROYED WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA HOME, INJURING TWO

The Cambria County coroner says 50-year-old Bradley Kollar, of Hastings, blew himself up in a truck outside the home in rural Clearfield Township, leveling the residence. But police have yet to say how — or why — Kollar died. He was supposed to be in court at that time for sentencing on methamphetamine-related charges.

The House Liquor Committee backed the bill in a party line vote on Monday. But it's unclear if today's debate will lead to a vote by the full state House.

JURY IN PHILADELPHIA ABORTION DOCTOR'S DEATH PENALTY TRIAL HEARS GRUESOME TESTIMONY

A medical assistant says she cut the necks of at least 10 babies after they were delivered and says another worker routinely "snipped" the spines to make sure the babies were dead. Dr. Kermit Gosnell denies killing seven late-term babies and any role in the overdose death of a woman who sought an abortion in 2009.

EASTERN PENNSLVANIA SCHOOL DISTRICT WANTS TO 'AXE' BODY SPRAY

Officials at Freedom High School in Bethlehem say a student was recently hospitalized for an allergic reaction to Axe Body Spray. Now, officials are asking students to stop using it while attending the school.

HOW (FAR) THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN

Defending NCAA basketball champions Kentucky not only missed this year's March Madness tournament, the Wildcats have now been knocked off in the first round of the NIT. Kentucky lost when Robert Morris sunk two key free throws with seconds left in the game to win 59-57 at the school's Pittsburgh-area campus Tuesday night.
