GUNMAN TAKEN TO HOSPITAL, WILL BE CHARGED IN FATAL WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA BAR SHOOTING

Allegheny County homicide detectives have yet to release the name of the man who opened fire at the Fort Pitt Inn in North Fayette Township just after midnight this morning. Police say he killed one man, and wounded two others – including the man police say subdued and disarmed the gunman.

AGELESS PHILLY FIGHTER BERNARD HOPKINS SAY HE MAY RETIRE AS CHAMP IF MEANINGFUL FIGHT CAN’T BE FOUND

The 48-year-old won the IBF light heavyweight championship Saturday night, remaining the oldest boxer ever to win a major title. He beat Tavoris Cloud in a unanimous 12-round decision.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS TO SKATE WITHOUT REIGNING MVP EVGENI MALKIN FOR THE NEXT WEEK OR TWO

Last night’s 6-1 win over the New York Islanders was the Penguins’ first game since Malkin suffered an unspecified upper body injury in Saturday night’s win in Toronto. Malkin missed four games with a concussion earlier this year, but this injury is not believed to be related to that.

JERRY SANDUSKY-FOUNDED CHARITY WANTS TO SELL ITS HEADQUARTERS

A judge has set a March 28 hearing on the request by the Second Mile children’s charity to sell its headquarters in State College. Prosecutors say the former Penn State assistant football coach met most of his child-sex abuse victims through the charity.

PHILADELPHIA’S PROPERTY TAX BASE CRIPPLED BY DELINQUENT PROPERTIES

An investigation by the Philadelphia Inquirer and PlanPhilly found the delinquencies are depressing the overall property tax base by at least $9.5 billion, almost 10 percent of Philadelphia’s $98.5 billion in taxable real estate. The newspaper found the city could raise nearly $300 million a year if it could correct the problem.
