The Allegheny County jury returns for a third day of deliberations in the campaign corruption trial of suspended state Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin and her sister, Janine Orie.

It may seem like a game, but for some schools, the use of yoga balls for students to sit on instead of chairs is generating better productivity among elementary school students. UTILITY DROPS PLANNED APPEAL OF $109 MILLION VERDICT, WILL PAY $105 MILLION TO FAMILY OF WOMAN KILLED BY FALLING POWER LINE
West Penn Power has agreed to drop its appeal of a $109 million verdict against over the death of a woman killed by a power line that fell on her in front of her two young daughters. Instead, it will pay the family of Carrie Goretzka $105 million as well inspect its power lines for the kind of splices that caused her death in 2009.

A minor tremor was recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey which said it was centered in the west end of Williamsport and registered a magnitude of 2.3. While the earth did move, the effect was hardly noticeable and police told the Sun-Gazette newspaper that they fielded no calls of concern or worry about it. A quake of 2.5 to 3 is typically the smallest felt by people.
AFTER A SPATE OF GOATS TURNING UP MISSING, A SUSPECT IS BEING SOUGHT
First six goats went missing from a farm in Liberty Township in December, followed by another 20, according to owner Sylvia Nyman. Now, Pennsylvania State Police they’ve got a suspect and charges are pending. They won’t say who the suspect is, but neighbors have long complained about Nyman’s goats, according to the Centre Daily Times in State College.
